Madonna in Manila

Madonna in Manila

I mentioned in a previous post that Madonna would be coming to Manila. Well, those whispers are turning into part of everyday conversation nowadays. Rumors have it that it will happen sometime in mid 2008 at the Fort Open Field (that isn’t too far off). It also helps that she’s part of Sunsilk’s worldwide campaign.

That’s pretty much all I have to say. You can bet that once tickets go on sale, it’ll only be a matter of days before they run out. That goes without saying, it’s time to save your money for Madonna. Madonna in Manila. Wow. The thought alone is hair raising.

Let me a give a few guesstimates for Madonna in Manila ticket prices if it were to be done in Araneta:

  • Patron – P40,000
  • Lower Box – P30,000
  • Upper A – P20,000
  • Upper B – P10,000
  • General Admission – P2,500

Beyonce was at P20,000 before, and if I remember correctly, Jacko was at P10,000? Nothing to laugh about here — demand will be so high that these prices are sure to fetch a lot of takers.

Ne-yo in Manila + Ways to rip off Araneta Coliseum

Neyo in Manila

When I found out that Ne-yo was coming to Manila, I told myself I wouldn’t watch because the girlfriend was out of the country. On my way to work this morning, Wave 89.1 was having some kind of scavenger hunt for 9 teams. The prize? Actual backstage passes to the concert. Wow. And then after each commercial break, they would play songs he either sang or wrote.

I just realized, there was just no way I was going to miss this concert. Kahit general admission lang.

Help Me Help You Resume Writing Tips

resume.gif Resume writing is something I took seriously when I was just looking to join the workforce. For one, I didn’t want to end up in a job that I didn’t like. Two, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do back then. If anything, a person’s resume can actually become the ticket to finding the perfect job.

Ever wondered what employers look for when scouting for talent online? Here’s my informal take. :)

This is my Most Hated Showband Song

I used to work for FHM

Since this is my first post in this entirely new category, I thought I’d explain it. Everything I post here will need no explanation, and will only have the title as the main caption. It can be a screen cap I found on the Internet, pictures of others, and my very own images as well.

Might as well dedicate this first post to my boss who keeps on introducing me as someone who used to work for FHM. Fine I look like a dork in this picture. Laugh all you want, but you’ll never see what I saw :)

The Free Throw Line

When I used to play inter school ball in high school, I relished going to the free throw line. I loved the feeling of an opposing team’s mob jeering me on as the referee hands me the ball, up until the ball leaves my fingertips. There was never a feeling of doubt after every shot. In my mind, the ball was always going to go in.

A decade hence, I found myself in a different situation.

More International Artists Please

I’ve always believed that fan or not, everytime an international artist comes over, you should jump on the opportunity to watch. I mean, how many times do big name recording superstars ignore negative travel advisories to our country? You know what I mean.

I’m not a big fan of Michael Jackson, but still took the leap and spent 6k to see the child molester (told you I’m not a fan) in hopes of catching him sing Man in the Mirror. After standing through the 2-hour performance without hearing the song however, I can still honestly say that the money was well spent. Think Gary V then multiply by a hundred when it comes to production value. Hey, if your talent can build you your own theme park, then you must really be good.

What I’m trying to say is, if I had 20g’s to spare, or if I were the Prince of Brunei (some people have all the luck), I would definitely go to the open field tomorrow night. Just to see Beyonce dance like a madwoman would be worth the price of admission. Hope she doesn’t do a repeat of what happened in the video below. Then watch how she gets up and continues with the mayhem.

Absolutely priceless. Lucky front row bastards.

Dogs not allowed in UP? CRAP.

I woke up at around 10, grabbed some breakfast, and went back to bed til’ 3 in the afternoon! Not wanting to end the day feeling like a slob, I decided to go to UP for a short run.

I’ve been passing through UP on my way to school since my kindergarten days, and have biked through the area countless times. You’ll find no safer place for exercise on a Sunday, as they block off the academic oval to passing vehicles. I also decided to bring my dog Basti along. He spends the whole day eating and sleeping, so a jog would definitely do him some good.

I started running with Basti at around 5pm, when a security guard approached us and said that dogs weren’t allowed in the area (Apparently, they haven’t been since 2005). This caught me by surprise as I had brought my dog with me at least thrice in the past 6 months. No one seemed to mind then, and I just don’t understand why it would hurt anyone now.

Now tell me, the powers that be in UP, is this face not worthy of your beautiful grounds? I clean up when he poops so you don’t have to worry about that.
