Ford has always been one of the most reliable vehicle brands in the US. In one way or another, the brand is already a part of American culture. “Built to Last” has been their tagline for the longest time, and one cannot agree more that that’s exactly how their vehicles are made.
It’s what you do with it that makes it yours. It also helps if it already feels like yours,
the first time you get behind the wheel.
How does that happen? Listening. To you.
Everywhere you go, everything you do, you are the inspiration.
Because a car is just a car, until it’s powered by you.
In my opinion, this trumps even Honda’s amazing “Cog” campaign.
Here’s consumer advertising that really puts the consumer in the middle of it all.
If you’re shopping for a vehicle and you encounter that kind of a commercial, I think it’s safe to say you won’t be making any quick decisions unless you visit a Ford dealer and see what they have to offer.
What the campaign does even better, is make people who already own a Ford feel even better about their themselves. It’s a great ploy to take care of the lifetime value of their customers.
Powered by you. Can’t think of any better way to say that.

Ford’s approach is actually based on contemporary conventional marketing wisdom, which places more focus on the consumer and attempts to make brands very personal.
