Where is the love for Chris Paul?

Race to MVP

Apparently, you won’t find it on ESPN.

According to J.A. Adande (who is he?) of ESPN.com, the MVP race is going to come down to Kobe Bryant, Lebron James, and Kevin Garnett. Chris Paul? There is no mention of his name in the article. After what the guy has done this season (not that it matters, but he’s he #1 player in Fantasy Basketball now), you gotta at least throw his name in there somewhere.

I’m a self-confessed Kobe Bryant fan, but believe me, the CP3 faithful  didn’t come up with CP3MVP.com for nothing. What team can afford to lose 21 pts, 11 asts, and almost 3 steals a game? All the praise is well deserved. Check out his dunk on Supah’ Man on the last play.

Actually more than the stats mentioned, John Hollinger (that official stats guy of ESPN.com) placed these stats into proper perspective: CP3’s current statistical pace is at an historical level…it can rival that of Magic, Isaiah, and JKidd’s best seasons.

Besides, given the rule changes in the NBA, if Steve Nash can get two MVP awards, why isn’t CP3 getting his props? I guess the regular season MVP is turning out to be a real popularity contest instead. KG and the Celts have the best record in the league because they are loaded from players 1 - 10. Kobe can’t qualify for this year’s award because he spent the first month and a half sulking over his aborted trade away from LA. MVPs don’t do that type of shit. So personally if there is any discussion for MVP, it should be between CP3 and King James. More than the stats, imagine New Orleans and Cleveland competing without them? I can’t.
