Nike set to release Air Jordan XXIII

If you’re a basketball fan, you should consider yourself lucky. Not because you saw the boring San Antonio Spurs take home the NBA championship two or three too many times. Not because you’re puzzled at how Isaiah continues to ignore the New York faithful’s call for his head. Not even King James’ 25 straight in last year’s playoffs or KB24′s 81 comes close to being in the same breadth of Michael Jordan’s grandiose career.

No matter how big today’s superstars become, they will never be like Mike. That is why (the bold text cannot stress it enough) — you are lucky.

With that being said, those $230 shoes are butt ugly. A leaked picture can be found here. If there are any sightings in the Philippines, please let everyone know.

*Err, if you know me personally, you know I’m just being bitter because I can’t afford dem’ sneaks :P

The Mother of ALL Gaming Monitors

BEFORE

AFTER

Ah, the wonders of technology. We see something different everyday.

Somebody else reported it already, but something like this definitely deserves to be re-posted. The Alienware curved monitor shown here is now on top of my lust list. It’s going to stay there until I find out how much the thing is going to cost. :P

*Every friggin’ CES2008 video on YT has been taken down. BOO!

The Beginning of the End for HD-DVD

If you’re one of the many who bought an LCD or Plasma television during the holidays, then you’ve probably heard about Warner’s recent decision to use the Blu-Ray format exclusively. It has been a silent battle, but from the looks of things, the HD-DVD format will die even before it hits mainstream.

While I still belong to the can’t-afford-but-aspiring-for-an-LCD-TV category, one can’t help but wonder how is this information relevant for us Filipinos? Take a trip to PinoyDVD, and posts like this are what you’ll find.

Guinness Book of World Records: Gaming Edition

Who’s the old hag on the Q-bert machine? She’s just the oldest gamer to every set gaming records in the US. She, and a whole group of couch potatoes gamers will be in the first edition of the Guinness Book of World Records: Gamers’ Edition, to be released on February 8th. It’s just another validation of how big gaming has become. I mean c’mon, who would have thought they’d be able to compile records about every single thing in gaming?

This gives me an idea, and it’s somehow related to a previous post. What it is? I’d rather keep it under wraps until I’m entirely sure it can’t be done :)

Tis’ the Season for Weight Loss

It’s that time of the year again, when people try to make up for their heightened cholesterol count by suddenly going to the gym. It’s a universal cycle. Halfway around the world, we see a city is trying to lose a million pounds. If you think about it, no one is to blame. Anyone who’s not vegetarian and is able to resist Lydia during the holiday season is inhuman.

Just the other day, I decided to kickoff my post Christmas diet by indulging in a few simple sacrifices to “get back in shape” again. I’m no fitness expert (those who need something to get them started should buy *ehem*, Men’s Health Magazine), but if you happen to find yourself wanting to lose weight gradually, here’s a short list you can follow.

Macbook Pro stolen a day before Christmas

I just had to repost this. From a Mac user to another, I hope you find it.

STOLEN: Macbook Pro 2.4GHZ, 2GB RAM, 120GB HDD – SERIAL # W8732099X92
WHEN: DEC.23,2007
WHERE: Tagaytay City
REWARD: P40,000 for recovery and information leading to recovery
CONTACT: MARK DE LOS REYES, 0917-893-2392

Why something like this would happen a day before Christmas is beyond me. Please see full details of what happened here. I would CRY if something like this happened to me or anyone I know. A few tips when bringing your precious Macbook or any other laptop in public.

  • Do not leave it in the car when you’re going to watch a movie at the mall. If you have no choice, leave it in the trunk so it is not visible from the windows. It doesn’t matter where you go. That’s why you have a laptop bag.
  • Those who go to crowded coffee shops tend to leave their laptop on vacant tables in order to save the latter. NEVER underestimate the people who go there. A laptop is still a laptop.
  • Never trust ANYONE with your laptop. (If it’s a PC maybe you can – just kidding :P )
  • Buy a case that will make your Mac look like a PC (peace :) )
  • I love the area, but please stay away from the coffee shops in Katipunan (specially Bo’s Coffee in front of Miriam). The vicinity is notorious for crooks who hold them up and take EVERYTHING in sight.

If you find the guy who stole it, please post all details in Philmug and set a time, date, and meeting place. Sabay sabay nating kutusan ang loko.

Happy New Year Everyone!

My 2007

I had wanted to post this earlier, but spent most part of the first day of 2008 just celebrating. A lot of things happened in 2007 that are worth remembering, but all I want to do now is thank everyone who has touched my life.

My sincerest THANK YOU to all of you. On with 2008! :D
